Bad Credit Car Buying
56Are you in a situation where you absolutely have to get yourself a car because you can't live without it anymore? Did you find a new job that makes more money for you but which is also further away geographically from you? You'll probably want to avoid public transit, because everybody knows how horribly uncomfortable that is.
Chances are that you are having problems with your credit scores. And if you find a new job that makes you more money, then this is a good opportunity for you to improve your financial situation as well as your credit scores. It would be a shame if you couldn't afford to buy yourself a car and miss out on an opportunity like that.
The problem with bad credit is that it makes your life a lot harder on you. When you've got bad credit, you are considered to be at a higher risk of defaulting on your monthly payments. And nobody likes a defaulter. Especially not lenders. So they will make you pay a higher interest. This is very ironic, because it only makes payments harder on you. And the reason why you got bad credit in the first place, is because you're having money problems!
Buying A Car On Bad Credit
Buying a car despite having a lousy credit history is still possible. It's just going to require slightly more effort and you're going to have to put up with a less comfortable car loan than you would've had if you had had good credit. This whole bad credit car buying stuff might seem a little scary at first. Because you know you're in a weak bargaining position when you go to a car dealership and he runs a credit check on you, only to reveal that your score is lousy.
But there is something you can do about this. You can improve your bargaining position easily by cutting the car dealer out of the picture when it comes to your car loan. What you need to do, is get a preapproved loan at an independant auto loan service, so that you can walk into the car dealership as a cash buyer.
A car salesman will have a much weaker grip on you when he never gets a look at your credit score. This is a good way to avoid the salesman from sticking you with all sorts of extended warranties and insurances. You just have to be a little smart when you go about buying a car with bad credit!
